Hugo Gernsback

Hugo Gernsback invented modern science fiction. The Hugo awards are named for him. He was a tinkerer – today, we’d call him a hacker or maker. He saw science, inventing machines based on the then-new technologies of radio and electronics, and science fiction as all one thing.
