It appears to be a day-after-tomorrow science fiction movie about an inventor who builds an interstellar spaceship in his backyard, and who recruits a heroic engineer to go off and fly the thing to explore the galaxy and save the human race.
This is one of those science fiction cliches that’s been done a thousand times before, and yet is always fresh for another go-round.
Great cast: Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica The Help Chastain, William Devane, Topher Grace, Casey Affleck, Ellen Burstyn, John Lithgow, Matt Damon, and Michael Fucking Caine.
The director is Christopher Nolan, and he and Jonathan Nolan wrote it. The Nolans together did the Dark Knight movies (didn’t care for the first one, didn’t see the rest) and Christopher Nolan did Inception, which I loved.
How great is it that we live in a time that a stone science fiction movie can attract an A-list team like that?
And yes his name is actually Michael Fucking Caine.
